This is the second entry in my "Beating Depression" series which I decided to do an audio format for, the first being a video. I hope this series helps a lot of people.

Here the first one: https://youtu.be/nJOGa4CsUZI?list=PLM_ItXF6mgdrOb1GRH0m-97IqNDi5QxzC

Today, I talk about the difference between finding comfort, and wanting a relationship, as well as talk about running away from problems.

depression sucks. :( some looks to friend, some look to weed. most idiots like me look to alcohol. but having friends to share emotion (and sometime vent shit on them) is much better than any substances to ingest until you pass out. i really like to listen to you talk. dunno why, your voice sound really warm and comforting.

hope you feel better soon. :)

I think this is a helpful potcast all in all, I can find a lot of my own thoughts and feelings when I fought with depression.

However, I couldn't help but think that you spoke directly from your heart and soul, which I like on the one hand ('cause it's 100% authentic), but on the other hand I sometimes have problems to follow you. At least twice you noticed yourself that you got a bit ahead of your chain of thoughts and mentioned that "this is for a later topic"

But besides these mental leaps I agree with what you said. When you can't love yourself, you can never really love your partner, I guess that is merely impossible. And yes, to grow some kind of self-esteem you have to find friends first. Even though real-life-friends are great, it is sometimes though to find some, and yes, in these modern days an online-friendship is helpful.
It's a thousand times better then sitting alone and brood over your life. Believe me, I know about that dark place all to well.

Fun fact: What you said about funny T-shirts is true. I started to wear my old theme shirts from the mid-90s and I can't count how many coversations started this way (allthough some were disappointed when they find out that the shirts weren't retro but indeed just old ^^).

I'm not sure if many people will answer to this podcast, at least not in public. But I'm sure some will write you PM's about this. And even if they don't react in any way, you can be sure a lot of peeps will listen to what you said - and may find it very helpful. At least i did.
