Piercing Lazer - Galaxy (Instrumental)

RealFaction Author RealFaction

Happy Holidays, folks! Managed to finish this last Piercing Lazer instrumental from the deluxe version of The Other Side EP! Eventually I'll slap vocals on all of them, but those will only be available for purchase.

This song is called Galaxy, and it's about someone like family to me who always gets beaten down, but in my eyes has a vast personality. Enjoy! Last song of the year, I think. Got some influence from 30 Seconds to Mars (old stuff), Skillet, Celldweller, Circle Of Dust, Rammstein, and Rush.

Really like the feel of this. Nice mix, feels industrial in places. Pleasure listening to your stuff. :)

I like the atmospheric intro with the phasing synths and ominous mood. The progression is a little odd, but not too fast-paced. It seems like you have a few different riffs in there that are repeated interchangeably (:32, :43, :53, etc.) but collectively don't lead much of anywhere. It might make a good loop for a videogame, but as a stand-alone piece it lacks melodic development or dynamic contrast. The section at 2:30 offered some structural relief at the very least, but I might also point out that the piece lacked strong melodic content. Overall, the mixing and mastering are very good, though, and I can hear all the instruments clearly throughout. Weird structural standards aside, I like the sound design and mood. Keep at it, RealFaction. ;)

If I can give this 8 starts, I would. Truly awesome metal piece! \m/
