So it's been a long time since I've sung to one of my original piano songs, so I made this song for a friend dedicated to my "little sister" Kenzie, and anyone who is in a rough place in their lives, I want you to show this to them to show them you care. I'm making a youtube version too soon. Lyrics below! Sorry about the mic quality, I need a new one. Enjoy!
We've all crossed sign, some points in our lives, which way will we go?
And in all of the bleakness, all of our weakness, is just withering lights on the road.
We've slipped on the ice, and broken our lives, fell down a hole with no hands,
trapped and alone, no place to call home, no one who'd understand.
You're whispering lies, to yourself when you cry,
it's going to get better, it just takes time.
There is a friend in every one of us here so always hang on to your heart.
Whenever you feel that void inside, never quit what you start,
cause I have faith, you're a special face,
just know you've got a place in my mind,
no matter where or why,
just follow your dreams, not the lies, feel what's inside.
And when you fall, I won't let you dissolve,
just know that you've got a friend in me.
Climbing higher through the fire; the passion that burns within you,
Reaching farther, trying harder, finding out things you never knew.
Everybody has those days where the rain washes everything to gray,
but sometimes even in the silence I take the time to see it all in a brighter way.
Ooh, I dig it -- reminds me of that Robert Downey Jr album The Futurist. Really like the voice. Chords sound really inspirational. The only thing that bugged me slightly was the "fuzz" background noise from the microphone that would only creep into the track when you were singing, but would disappear when you weren't singing. I would get a constant track of that going throughout the whole song at a low volume so it wouldn't be as distracting when listening to the track. Otherwise, I really dig this.
Beautiful, period. Honestly, there was only one thing that was weird. At around 2:30, when you sing "Reaching farther, trying harder, finding out things you never knew," there was a small crack in the mic. Just a small heads up. Great job, and keep this good work up!
